Legal Administrative Assistant  Summary

This position provides legal and administrative support to General Counsel; serves as back-up for the Administrative Assistant/Receptionist.

Legal Administrative Assistant  Responsibilities include:

-     Provides high-level administrative support by handling information requests and performing clerical functions
-     Drafts, formats and proofs Legal Department documents, including SEC filings and Board of Director communications
-     Frequently handles confidential financial information for company
-     Creates Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint Presentations and reports as needed
-     Schedules appointments, meetings and conference calls for General Counsel
-     Responds and makes calls on behalf of General Counsel
-     Drafts and types contracts, litigation pleadings, office memos and transcribes dictation
-     Assists EH&S/Regulatory Manager when needed. Interfaces with outside counsel respecting litigation including supervising litigation discovery responses, answers to pleadings and maintaining correspondence
-     Prepares and processes legal documents and papers, such as summonses, subpoenas, complaints, answers, appeals, motions and pretrial agreements
-     Arranges for delivery of legal correspondence to clients, witnesses, government and court officials Keeps accurate account of Legal Department files, including contract, government filing and general corporate files
-     Maintains database for company files and assists in the supervision of document retention policy
-     Provides back-up support for Administrative/Receptionist 
-     Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of EH&S principles and values; champions safety as necessary
-     Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position

Legal Administrative Assistant  Required Qualifications:

-     5-8 years office experience required
-    Minimum 3 years experience in Legal department
-    Must be able to communicate effectively and comfortably with Board of Directors and high-level executives
-    Ability to multi-task; self-motivated; prioritizes; excellent organizational skills
-    Demonstrated ability to keep information highly confidential
-    Experience working with various office equipment; ability to trouble shoot equipment
-    Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, various email and internet programs and applications, organizational chart programs used by the Company
-    Excellent English communications skills including ability to read, write and speak fluently; ability to communicate with all levels
